  • I've got no idea what to wear, can you help me?  Of course we can!  That's what we do.  We have an enormous range of costumes and accessories and we've been doing this for years.  If you've got a party theme, we can give you costume ideas.  If you've got no theme and no idea and never been to a costume party before, relax we'll guide and help you all the way through till you feel fabulous about what you're going to wear. 
  • What's included in the hire price?  The hire costumes come complete as described on our website.  Added extras may be things like shoes, for example,  which can be hired for a small additional amount.  We never hire hosiery.  That is strictly for sale only.
  • How much is the hire?  All hire prices are shown on our website.
  • Do I have to make an appointment to try on costumes? No, come at anytime during opening hours and try on costumes.  If you want to try on a specific costume, just call first (07) 32551990 and we'll hold the costume for a day or two until you're there.
  • How do I book a costume? You can book online, over the phone or in the store.
  • Do I have to pay a deposit when I book a costume?  Yes, there is a $10 booking deposit payable per costume.  The booking deposit is deducted from the hire price when you collect your costume.
  • What if I don't pick up my costume or cancel my booking?  Your forfeit your booking fee.  The booking fee is deductable from your hire but non-refundable.
  • Do I have to book a costume? No, just come into the store, try things on and take your pick.
  • Is there a bond on the hire costumes and what is it? Yes, all hires require a bond.  The bond depends upon the price of the costume. Most customers leave a credit card imprint for the bond (to which there is no charge and the details are shredded when the costume is returned on time and in good order). If you don't have a credit card you may leave the bond in cash or charge it to your debit card. Your bond is refunded in full when the costume is returned on time and in good order.  If you pay for your bond on your debit card, you the cardholder and no one else must be the one to collect the bond.
  • Do I need i.d. to hire a costume?  Yes, just bring your driver's licence or an 18+ card with you.
  • Do you sell costumes as well as hire them?  Yes, you can purchase and hire costumes from us.
  • I want to hire a costume. How will I know if my costume will fit?  We always recommend customers try on costumes before hiring them.
  • I want to buy a costume.  How will I know if my costume will fit?  If you're buying the costume in store, of course you can try it on first.  If you're buying the costume online we provide a size guide for each of our retail costumes.  We sell many different brands of costumes sourced from around the world, each with their own size range.  We have translated those sizes into standard Australian sizes and provide that information with the costumes.
  • Can you send my costume to me or do I have to pick it up? We send our retail costumes and accessories by Fastway Couriers and Australia Post Express Post.  We do not send our hire costumes or accessories.  You will need to collect them and return them to the store.  You're welcome to arrange a courier of your choice to collect or return your hire costume if you can't make it yourself.
  • How long is the hire?  The hire price quoted on our website is for over the weekend or over two days during the week.  Weekend hires can be collected from Thursday.  They are due back Monday.
  • Do I have to clean the costume? No, all cleaning is done by us in store.
  • Where are you located? Disguises is at 659 Stanley Street, Woolloongabba, Brisbane QLD. Find us on the corner of Stanley Street and Merton Road, just opposite the Morrison Hotel and adjacent to Drummond Golf.
  • Do you have parking? Yes, there is parking behind the shop off Merton Road.
  • What are your opening hours? Monday 8am - 6pm, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 9am - 6pm, Thursday 9am - 8pm and Saturday 9am - 4pm. We are closed on Sundays and public holidays.
  • I've booked a costume and now I want to change it.  No problem.  You're welcome to change your booking for any costume available.
  •  I've hired a costume and now I want to change it.  All hires are final once costumes have been collected.  If you want to swap your costume for any reason after collection a re-stocking fee will apply, proportional to the original hire price.
  • What if I'm late returning my hire costume?  There is a $10 per day per costume late fee but please call us (07) 3255 1990 if you're going to be late, we may be able to sort something out.
  • Do you have children's costumes?  We sell a select range of children's costumes. We do not hire children's costumes.
