In the 1960's, a teenager called Frank Abagnale successfully pretended to be a Pan Am Pilot in order to get free flights and board. Then he was played by Leonardo DiCaprio in Catch Me If You Can. His initial decision to pretend to be a pilot, however, was also because he liked how dashing and respectable the pilots looked in their uniforms.
